Perfect Center Increase!! and KittyHat: the Sequel

Do you know how happy those words make me?? Perfect Center Increase! **dancing jig** oh how I love it. I love modular knitting...it always feels weird, and one little thing can mess it all up so fantastically, but then you get the rhythm of it and magical stuff starts happening with the yarn. I lent my Modular Knitting book by Iris to my friend Laura from the Yarnivore Knitting Club (come join us Friday evenings!!) so I can have another kindred knitting spirit to talk to here in San Antonio!!
Anyway, without further ado, here is the beginning of my redone, and done RIGHT this time, Dream Shawl: Silky Tie Wrap knit in JKnits silk/merino blend in San Antonio colorway.

I am well on my way to finishing the first big panel of the shawl..such a fun addictive pattern!

Yesterday I FINALLY finished that other kitty hat that I was making for Mica's friend. I feel bad because it has taken me quite a while, since I had so many other projects going. I am so bad though, at paying more attention to the fun interesting projects that I have on the needles. I should have finished the hat within a couple weeks, not a couple months. Thanks so much for your patience Mica and Mica's friend (how bad, her name escapes me...Lindsay is it?) Anyway here is the finished product, on a not-so-happy Mica (she thinks I did a better job on this kittyhat than hers :( I think it is the gorgeous deep blue of the yarn since I am beyond mistakes, so one cannot be better than the other **cough cough**) Also, the hat would not be NEARLY as cool without Gabriel the Husband's help with the pompoms (every time I try to make a pompom they come out anemic and pathetic looking) so, gratuitous thanks to the man for making my project just that much nicer!

It is always a blast when Mica comes over...and not just for me, for Jack too....

After she wore Jack out (or other way around) playing "jump from the couch and catch me"....

.....I grabbed my knitting and we headed over to Starbucks and met up with Stephanie. I knew my two best girlfriends would get along great, and I was not disappointed. We immediately started talking and laughing as if we had all known each other forever. After 2 hours flew by Mica had to get home and Stephanie and I grabbed a quick dinner together (mmmm Pan-Asian Cuisine!) and then, happy but tired, went our seperate ways. A very cool Monday indeed!
